On the 27th November, Simon Gray took over the role as Clerk to the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. He is a Wheelwright of 18 years standing and has had a long career in the City.
A senior financial services professional with strong international background, Simon has spent much of his working life in the private sector with senior roles including Baring Asset Management, and until 2006 as Compliance Director / Head of Asset Management Compliance at Barclays Wealth. He has previously worked at the Investment Management Regulatory Organization (IMRO), a predecessor organization of the UK Financial Conduct Authority and on the successful BCCI investigation for the Serious Fraud Office – then the largest recorded fraud in world history (US$20 billion).
A prolific writer, published author and public speaker, Simon has a law degree and MBA and is a Fellow of the Chartered Securities and Investments Institute, as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services. He also holds Fellowships of the Corporate Governance Institute (formerly ICSA) and the London Institute of Banking and Finance. Simon sits on the National Advisory Committee of the Chartered Securities and Investments Institute as a Board Member – the NAC covers the Middle East, India and Sri Lanka and is a member of the FS Expert Group. https://fsxpert.com
