An oil portrait of Edward Scrivener, recently acquired by the Clockmakers’ Museum, through the generosity of the Friends of the Clockmakers’ Museum and the Company’s Collection Fund.
Scrivener was apprenticed through the Clockmakers’ Company to John Long for seven years in 1727. He is shown here with a gold watch in his hand and leaning on a spring clock of his own making. |
